3 teens arrested in armed robbery outside Garden Grove school


GARDEN GROVE – Three teenage boys were arrested Tuesday after robbing a man outside an elementary school with a replica gun, Garden Grove police said.

At 7:39 p.m., officers were called to 10500 Morningside Drive outside of Morningside Elementary School, after a man had been robbed at gunpoint by three boys.

While officers were responding to the call, three teens matching the descriptions of the suspects were found near the school, said Garden Grove police Lt. Tom DaRe.

They were found to be in possession of a replica gun and the man’s stolen property. They were arrested and later admitted to several other robberies that were reported in the area of Brookhurst Street and Westminster Avenue over the past four to six weeks, DaRe said.
